IT IS THE NIGHT

It is the night
When stars glow bright and gleam;
It is the night
When the earth teems with dreams.
The Night of light.

It is the night
When the whole world sides with peace;
It is the night
When boons do not cease.
The white Night.

It is the night
When love fills the vast sphere;
It is the night
When hearts must be full of good cheer
The sole Night.

It is the night
When the grim past is changed by a babe in arms;
It is the night
When new days start with great charms.
The famed Night.

It is the night
When a bold plan is made known;
It is the night
When the seeds of a prime news are sown.
The great Night.

It is the night
When the Lord choose as throne a trough
It is the night
When the fiend’s reign is turned off.
The right Night.

LOVE

Love is like a torch in the dark night,
It lights the steps through the doubts of life.
Love knows what is right,
And its deeds of grace beat strife.

All the time, love hopes to be a cure
For those hearts with no dreams.
Love is not a cheap lure,
Love makes plain life’s themes.

Love is a verb, it’s not a noun,
Its goal is to spread peace and glee.
Love walks through the towns and hands out crowns.
No one can to buy it; love is free!

No hates, no wars, no smears
Can drown love’s great flames.
At each place where love goes, it is cheered;
To save lives and to build strong pacts are its aims.

Love sprays dry hearts with fresh drops.
Love keeps free from harm to those who seek its roots.
When a soul cries but is mute,
Love spurs dance and joy-filled hops.

Love has a pure and praised rite,
It brings souls back to life through a new chance,
It brings to bear the good will with sleight,
And keeps sense on a right stance.

Love does not stalk, nor coerce.
Love deems these two rules high:
Do not curse,
Do not be sly.

Love leaves a good trace on its way
And cleans the paths of stone.
A grey day can be a great day
When love’s gifts are shown.

Time is the best love’s friend
And long life is its prize.
To be poised is love’s trend;
With love’s code, a fool comes to be wise.

Love flows with good will and trust in meek hearts,
But love flees from the grudge and gall.
Each word of its foes is like a blunt awl,
But love’s words are quelled darts.

Love is rich when it shares its skills
And it goes more than one mile.
Love fills life with great thrills,
And my heart likes its style.

THE PLEA

My whole heart is a wreck.
Light is weak in my eyes and
The air hums a sad tune in my ears.

I feel blank while I smoke my crack
And my throat gulps pep pills with drinks.
My mind flies till the third sky, but I can’t find calm.
My pulse beats fast and my lips have dried up.

My skin soaks the sheets of my bed,
My legs and hands are frail, they shake.
I’ve burned my brain for no end.

My dreams have turned to ash,
My hope has sunk in the mud of rue.
Swords of fright stab my soul,
My nose is stiff with the fierce white dust.

I am in dire straits with this black choice.
My sense is out of bounds,
My breath shakes with death throes
The end, the end has come.

Thoughts of shame go round my heart:
When did I lose sight of my sound mind?
Why did I not hear mom’s and dad’s rules?
How can I get a new chance?

On my dark trip to this hell,
I can see a flare, up, at the top of the hole.
A huge hand slides down and takes me.

In no time at all, I am hauled up to a cloud,
Drops of tears cleanse my soul
And my sense turns clear.
It looks like a new start.

My flesh and bones feel strange.
My blood runs pure in my veins.
I’ve been saved from the jaws of death!

A calm voice fills my ears,
Sweet words flood my mind;
A warm look wraps my heart,
Then, I lift my eyes with a dazed look.

In front of me, the most grand soul;
With knees bowed close to me,
She holds my head on her thighs.
My sole love in life.

With a broad smile on her face
And deep faith in her words,
She says to me,
“Dear, the Lord heard my plea.”

IN THE PLACE OF PRAYER

If you yearn for peace of mind
And for rest in your soul,
Find them in the place of prayer.

 If you want to clean your dark past
And to start a new life in the light,
Bend your knees in the place of prayer.

 If yours eyes are dried of tears
And your heart has blown up with thick blood,
Fix them in the place of prayer.

 If your mouth pours out bleak words
And your mind is full of fears,
Purge them in the place of prayer.

 If your hope is lost
And love is out of reach,
Catch them in the place of prayer.

 If joy in your face is off
And the faith does not bear fruits,
Find the sense of life in the place of prayer.

 If your steps are mired in the muck of sins
And your hands are bound in chains of vice,
Be free in the place of prayer.

If you think that God is too far
And you are not in His thoughts,
Reach out to Him in the place of prayer.

MY BEST FRIEND

A friend might share a warm cup of tea, but
My best friend lends me his soul with mirth.

A friend spends spare time with me, but
My best friend shares his life.

A friend is like a fast wind, but
My best friend is a mild, fresh breeze.

A friend speaks nice words in my ears, but
My best friend tells the truth to my heart.

A friend might give me a piece of bread, but
My best friend shows me how to bake it.

A friend could be kind with my quirks, but
My best friend feeds my strengths and dreams.

A friend is like a shrub with bright green leaves, but
My best friend is a tree full of fresh fruit.

A friend comes and goes in life, but
My best friend dwells in my whole heart.

IN LIEU OF

Spread love in lieu of ill will,
Like a bee on a rose in full bloom.
Life is good when we learn to give hugs in lieu of hate.

When things don’t get well,
We have a great chance to show our best.
Our heart must be wide to peace, joy, and hope
In lieu of rage, grief, and doubt.

Hold in our mind a dream,
Make it live with calm in lieu of angst.
Step by step, day by day.
Don’t rush.

As a strong tree holds a frail nest,
God’s grace holds our slight soul.
His eyes watch our paths.
Have faith in His words in lieu of fear or scorn.

 Each hour in our life
Is worth its weight in gold.
Like a gem, time is a grand gift.
In lieu of vain acts
Make wise use of our time.

 To punch the air is to be a fool,
To kick to a rock is to be a daft.
Spend our strength with care
In lieu of poor sense.

 See the small ants and how they build their nest,
See the sleek flight of the ducks,
They work as a team in lieu of as one.

 A nice and rich life has a plan.
Make one and work up to it with grit.
Our goals will be earned with a brave heart,
In lieu of good luck; don’t play life by ear.

 Take care of our flesh and bones;
They are our prime wealth.
Keep brisk and stay full of life,
In lieu of hurt and pain.

 An act can talk more than ten men’s words.
A fond sign drawn on our face
Has more worth than a lot of coins.
Treat our loved ones as kings in lieu of as slaves.

A MAN OF GREAT WORTH

You were a thought; a wish of two wills,
and now, you are here as a gift from God.
You were bred with love;
and now, you fill both with lights of hope.

A smile drawn on your lips flows with charm.
Your pure glance is like a clear sky.
I can see a winged friend at Court ‘round you.

When your small hand grabs my thumb
and you sleep on my chest;
when your eyes seek mine
and your needs are part of my life,
you make me feel like a man of great worth.

You were a dream; the aim of two true vows,
and now, you are here as a seal of God.
You were sent to us by His grace and love
and now, our shared time has been filled with new joy.

All signs on your face are full of life.
Your small steps look like huge leaps of faith.
I can see your fate blessed by God.

When you give me a big hug with your small arms
and you laugh out loud while I pull a face;
when I take care of you
and your warm voice calls me: Dad!
you make me feel like a man of great worth.

Dear babe, I know that you, in a blink, will be gone,
but I am sure your heart will still know my love.
Since I would like to be a man of great worth for all times,
I will not let down my guard for you.

God bless you my sweet.

YOU MAKE MY DAY

When you draw a smile on your face
and your mouth is full of kind words for me,
you make my day.

When your arms heat my body with a sweet hug
or you bring me a cup of hot tea on a cold night,
you make my day.

When you hear my fears and dreams
and help me with a wise point of view,
you make my day.

When I feel stressed and weak
and you lift me up to do my best,
So that you do not lose sight of my flair,
you make my day.

When your heart sees how you can help me
and you take a pause from your tasks for me,
you make my day.

When you share your spare time with me
and spur me to show zest for my life,
you make my day.

When you need my help
and you say, please;
When words of thanks sprout from your lips
while I show you my love,
you make my day.

When you read these lines
and let me warm your heart with my words,
you make my day.
