LOVE

Love is like a torch in the dark night,
It lights the steps through the doubts of life.
Love knows what is right,
And its deeds of grace beat strife.

All the time, love hopes to be a cure
For those hearts with no dreams.
Love is not a cheap lure,
Love makes plain life’s themes.

Love is a verb, it’s not a noun,
Its goal is to spread peace and glee.
Love walks through the towns and hands out crowns.
No one can to buy it; love is free!

No hates, no wars, no smears
Can drown love’s great flames.
At each place where love goes, it is cheered;
To save lives and to build strong pacts are its aims.

Love sprays dry hearts with fresh drops.
Love keeps free from harm to those who seek its roots.
When a soul cries but is mute,
Love spurs dance and joy-filled hops.

Love has a pure and praised rite,
It brings souls back to life through a new chance,
It brings to bear the good will with sleight,
And keeps sense on a right stance.

Love does not stalk, nor coerce.
Love deems these two rules high:
Do not curse,
Do not be sly.

Love leaves a good trace on its way
And cleans the paths of stone.
A grey day can be a great day
When love’s gifts are shown.

Time is the best love’s friend
And long life is its prize.
To be poised is love’s trend;
With love’s code, a fool comes to be wise.

Love flows with good will and trust in meek hearts,
But love flees from the grudge and gall.
Each word of its foes is like a blunt awl,
But love’s words are quelled darts.

Love is rich when it shares its skills
And it goes more than one mile.
Love fills life with great thrills,
And my heart likes its style.
